Erich Schoeller, Ph.D.
Erich Schoeller is a postdoctoral researcher focused on invasive insect species impacting the Florida horticulture industry. Specifically, Dr. Schoeller’s research focuses on biological control of chili thrips (Scirtothrips dorsalis) on ornamental plants using phytoseiid mites. As a graduate student, his research focused on trophic ecology of members of the southern pine beetle guild and biological control of the giant whitefly (Aleurodicus dugesii) using parasitoids.
Erich - a Wisconsin native - earned his bachelor’s at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater before earning a master’s in entomology at Louisiana State University and a doctorate in entomology at the University of California-Riverside.
