Stachys floridana

Florida betony (Stachys floridana) is a perennial weed mostly found in Florida landscape planting beds, gardens, turfgrass, and agricultural production systems. Florida betony, also known as rattlesnake weed, grows in full sun to partial shade, tolerates wet and dry soil types, and is notorious for rapidly spreading through landscape beds. Its distinct underground tubers resemble rattlesnake rattles, earning it the nickname "rattlesnake weed."
