    Pilea microphylla

    Artillery weed (Pilea microphylla) is a native landscape weed that has naturalized worldwide. It is found throughout Florida, but the species is most problematic in Central and South Florida. This species occurs primarily in moist, disturbed areas and is typically found growing in rock mulch beds, cracks in driveways and hardscapes and planting beds in the landscape. It prefers shade but can grow in full sun.
