    Amaranthus spinosus

    Spiny amaranth (Amaranthus spinosus) is a landscape weed originating in lowland tropical Central America. This species has spread worldwide and has become a serious agricultural weed. It is toxic to livestock. Its sharp thorns deter grazing and make hand weeding difficult. Spiny amaranth has high invasive potential.
