    Urban Landscaping and Irrigation

The Urban Landscaping and Irrigation program provides science-based information to help Florida residents create water-efficient landscapes while maintaining attractive, functional yards. Our resources focus on proper irrigation techniques, Florida-Friendly plants, and sustainable landscape practices that reduce water consumption, minimize runoff, and protect water quality.

Through workshops, demonstrations, and consultations, we empower homeowners, landscape professionals, and community associations to implement water conservation strategies that work in Florida's unique climate while preserving our precious water resources.

    Current Projects and Reports

The Fertilizer Use Report highlights homeowner awareness, behaviors, and understanding of local fertilizer ordinances. Outreach and research on fertilizer usage in Orange and Seminole County are still in progress.
