| - Welcome to IAWG |
The Invasive Arthropods Working Group
(hereafter IAWG) was recently formed to deal
with influx of exotic arthropods (mainly
insects) that are arriving into Florida at
an alarming rate- approximately 1 new
species per month. The goal of the
IAWG is to make recommendations to improve
invasive arthropod management in Florida,
identify better methods for preventing new
invaders, identify research needs, develop
rapid response plans for newly established
arthropod invaders, and develop partnerships
with federal, tribal, state and local
governments and NGOs to help implement
detection, control and educational programs
about potentially new and recently
established arthropods invading Florida.

Your help with this
important effort is needed.
We
need help developing content for this
website.
We
need to develop an inventory of scientists
working on invasive arthropods.
The
information we need would include
possible web pages explaining your programs,
your interests, papers, and any other
relevant information.
We
can develop the pages if we receive the
content.
We would like to add
names and contact information to the contact
page. Please contact either Jim Cuda or
Lance Osborne if you are willing to
