Dr. Tina McIntyre
Regional Specialized Agent, Sustainable Land Development
Dr. Tina McIntyre is the Sustainable Land Development Regional Specialized agent in the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) and faculty for the Center for Land Use Efficiency (CLUE). Prior to this appointment, she served as the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Extension Agent in Seminole County, Florida, where she developed and delivered educational programming focused on water conservation, nutrient management, urban landscape best management practices, and restoration of urban green spaces.
Before joining UF/IFAS Extension, McIntyre worked for four years as a senior biologist with the Orange County Environmental Protection Division, where she conducted water quality monitoring and ecological assessments of lakes, rivers, and streams throughout central Florida. She also spent six years at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Arboretum, where she supported environmental education, conservation initiatives, and student engagement programs.
Throughout her career, McIntyre has received numerous state and national awards recognizing her excellence, including the Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Educator of the Year Award, the Art Hornsby Professional Enhancement Award in Water and Soil Sciences, and recognition from the Association of Natural Resource Extension Professionals and the American Society for Horticultural Science.
McIntyre earned her doctorate in interdisciplinary ecology with a concentration in soil and water sciences from the UF School of Natural Resources and Environment in 2026. Her research focused on human landscaping behaviors, urban water systems, Extension program evaluation, and development of the Behavior-to-Impact (BTI) framework for quantifying environmental and economic outcomes associated with educational programming.
