Dr. Seunghyun Choi
Assistant Professor of Horticultural Sciences
Dr. Seunghyun Choi is an assistant professor of urban horticulture in the Department of Horticultural Sciences at the University of Florida. His research focuses on developing practical solutions to improve the productivity, quality, resilience, and resource use efficiency of specialty crops, including vegetable and fruit crops, with an emphasis on urban production environments.
His program integrates species and cultivar evaluation with plant physiology, mineral nutrition, biochemistry, and real-time sensor technologies across low- and high-tech production systems to develop and evaluate management strategies that enhance crop performance under diverse growing conditions. Through collaborative research, his program aims to advance sustainable specialty crop production and address challenges facing Florida’s growers and urban communities.
