Mites of Industrial Hemp in Florida

This presentation is about mites in industrial hemp. Mites impact hemp both in the field and in the greenhouse, causing distorted growth, defoliation and can even be lethal to plants. This presentation focuses on the three most important groups of mites attacking hemp in Florida: Eriophyidae, Tarsonemidae and Tetranychidae. We also discuss chemical and biological control options for combating mites in industrial hemp.

Below is a list of presentation topics and an accompanying timestamps in this video:

  • 1:13 Physical and Cultural Control
  • 2:54 Eriophyidae (hemp russet mite)
  • 6:08 Tarsonemidae (broad mites)
  • 10:16 Tetranychidae (spider mites)
  • 13:15 Chemical Control of Mites in Hemp
  • 21:05 Biological Control of Eriophyidae
  • 21:51 Biological Control of Tarsonemidae
