Dr. Hayk Khachatryan Promoted to Associate Professor

UF/IFAS Mid-Florida Research and Education Center is proud to congratulate Dr. Hayk Khachatryan on his tenure and promotion. Khachatryan was promoted to Associate Professor in the Food and Resource Economics Department.

Khachatryan has been at UF since 2010 and specializes in experimental and behavioral economics, applied choice analysis, consumer behavior, temporal preferences and pro-environmental behavior. Khachatryan’s research focuses on consumer preferences in horticulture, aiming to understand consumer perceptions of labels and their willingness-to-pay for specific horticultural traits.

Khachatryan has been awarded grants by the Florida Department of Agricultural and Consumer Services, the United States Department of Agriculture National Institute for Food and Agriculture Specialty Crop Research Initiative, the National Horticulture Foundation, the Horticultural Research Institute and the Florida Department of Transportation to advance his research all while operating the Consumer Behavior & Insights Lab.

During his eight-year tenure at UF, Khachatryan has published more than 34 journal articles, three book chapters, 21 EDIS publications and authored 18 trade publication articles. He has presented his research at both national and international research conferences, and was awarded the 2016 Best Paper Award - Innovation Category by the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association at their 26th Annual World Conference in Aarhus, Denmark.
