Rules & Suggestions

Replying to any e-mail sent from the list and asking to unsubscribe will not unsubscribe you from the list. You must follow the instructions as listed above to unsubscribe.

Replying to a message from the list sends a message to the entire list. So please be sure that is what you want to do. If you want to send a message to only one or two other people, then do not use reply but start a new message with their e-mail addresses.

If you do wish to send a message to the entire list, then please practice good e-mail protocol and edit the message you are replying to so that just enough information is left to understand your reply. Nothing is worse then finding your mail box crammed with one long message that contains numerous other replies and useless routing information. Plus, one of the worse mistakes subscribers make on a list server is to copy the entire message back to the list or to the message originator with just a short response (such as: "You're right", "I agree with you." etc).

This is a Private, but Non-moderated list, in that any messages sent to the list by a subscriber will be relayed to all subscribers on the list. This allows free discussion of Integrated Pest Management in woody ornamental topics by all subscribers.

If, at some time in the future, list subscribers begin to receive messages posted by persons not really interested in woody ornamental IPM, then the list might be changed to a semi-moderated status. In that case, the list owner (see below) will automatically receive all messages before they are posted to the list. He will then decide to either delete the message, approve the mesage, or ignore it, in which case it will automatically be posted to the list after a certain time period. Hopefully, it won't come to that.
