The Mid-Florida Research and Education Center (MREC) offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Environmental Horticulture.  So whether you’re looking to gain new skills in your current career area or change fields entirely, we have the right program for you.  Below is a list of our current degree offerings.  For more information on how to apply to one of our programs, please see our Registration page.

Undergraduate Program

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts (B.S., B.A.) in Environmental Horticulture, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Major in Landscape and Nursery Horticulture

Landscape and Nursery Horticulture allows you to be creative, work outdoors, and improve people’s lives and the urban environment.  This degree programs teaches students how to grow and maintain plants while learning management skills necessary for running a successful business.  Diverse fields of this discipline include Ornamental Horticulture, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Conservation, Landscape Design, Floriculture, and Nursery Management.  This degree program is taught as a mixture of distance/live instruction.

Other Programs

Two other program offerings are available at the Mid-Florida Research and Education Center for students considering distance education.  A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration is available taught entirely through distance education instruction, whereas a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharD) degree is taught entirely through live instruction.  For further information concerning either of these degree programs please contact their departments directly through the links provided below.

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration, Warrington College of Business Administration
Major in General Business

The online Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-General Business (BSBA-IBA) degree program provides students with a strong foundation in business. The BSBA-IBA curriculum consists of a broad range of courses from various business disciplines, including business computing, business law, business statistics, entrepreneurship, economics, finance, management, marketing, and real estate. The BSBA-IBA degree prepares students for a wide array of business-related careers, as well as for graduate studies in business.  This degree program is taught entirely through distance instruction.  For further information about this program please see the Online Business Program.

Doctor or Pharmacy (PharmD.), College of Pharmacy

The University of Florida College of Pharmacy has distance education sites located in Jacksonville, Orlando, and St. Petersburg since the academic year 2002-2003. These campuses accommodate 50-60 students at each site.
