DEPARTMENT:60870000 - AG-MREC-APOPKA
1- Aiding preparation of manuscripts—identifying journals, copy editing, managing citations, formatting, uploading, liaison to on-campus statistical consultants, developed scientific figures—and revising (organizing, formatting, copy editing responses to reviewers) of manuscripts.
2 -Identify and synthesize MREC research stories and impacts into narratives for MREC's online presence and transmission to on-campus media units who disseminate to the public through various venues, including social, print and other electronic media.
3- A secondary responsibility will be to scout for research funding opportunities for the MREC faculty.
4- Responsibility will be to manage media inquiries and visits to MREC.
5- Other Duties as assigned by the office of the Chair.
$47,480-$65,000; commensurate with qualifications and experience.
A bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
1. Ph.D. in agriculture or related applied science with two peer reviewed publications as senior author
2. High level interpersonal communication skills
3. Public speaking expertise
4. Ability to package and shape scientific narratives through electronic media, print media, and public speaking.
